Finding RV Salvage Yards Kentucky (RV Junkyards in Kentucky)

A needle in a haystack. That is what this quest seems to parallel. Kentucky may be a good place to go as a tourist with working RVs. But it is not a good place to go when you are looking for used parts at a salvage yard. Or even a salvage yard in general.

There seems to be one main salvage yard operating in Kentucky. It is called VisioneRV and it says it is located in East Bernstadt, Ky. You can reach them through this telephone number- 606-843-9889.

To learn about this and other possible salvage or junkyards in Kentucky, just continue to read our article. It explores the state to get you the best information possible in case you are stuck there and need used parts fast.

List of RV Salvage Yards in Kentucky

List-of-RV-Salvage-Yards-in-Kentucky

When you do a lot of these articles, one gets used to seeing the same websites pop up with their lists. This is not a new topic so there are a few websites that come up in different search results regularly.

These lists usually have half a dozen or more locations where one can compile a longer list of salvage yards. This is not the case for Kentucky. We will list the three that we have found so far and none of them seem to be located in Louisville.

1. Rivertown RV

Address: 2901 KY-146, La Grange, KY 40031

Phone: (502) 269-1301

2. Visone RV.com LLC

Address: Symbol, KY 40729

Phone: (606) 843-9889

3. Kentucky RV Rental And RV Parts Visone RV

Address: 243 Fields Ln, East Bernstadt, KY 40729

Phone: (606) 843-9889

Notice that #2 & 3 have the same phone number but different locations. It may be two separate locations because their website claims to be the world’s largest selection of used RV and motorhome parts.

You can read their website at this link and here is what part of it says:

WE HAVE BEEN IN THE RV-AUTO BUSINESS, SELLING, BUYING, AND RV SERVICE CENTER FOR OVER 30 YEARS.

All Used Items And Parts Are Always Sold As / Is With No Returns (Manufacturer Warranties May Apply On New Items). At Visone Rv, We Do Test All Products That Can Be Tested And All Are In Working Order Before Shipping Or Pick-Up - So That Our Customers Can Buy With Confidence!”

They may be the best option you will have in this State.

RV Junkyards in Louisville

It is one of the larger cities in Kentucky and one would think that it has a large selection of RV salvage or junkyards. This is not going to be the case. While the State enjoys a lot of RV traffic, it is not home to a lot of RV owners, as compared to other states.

You can try to use this Yellow Pages search results page to track down some salvage yards that may carry used RV parts or buy used RVs in any condition. It is the old-fashioned method but sometimes that is the only option you have available.

Or if you have the time and the day is sunny and warm, a nice drive around the city may turn up some unadvertised results. Look in the local classified ads newspapers most cities have.

These newspapers offer cheaper advertising rates than traditional newspapers and you may find some of these businesses advertising there. If you are desperate it is worth a shot or just contact Visionerv as they have popped up in other searches for other states as well.

If they do not have the part you want, chances are the other locations may not have it either.

RV Salvage Yard London KY

What we do not like about some internet searches is the fact that many alternative businesses are included in the results that have nothing to do with your search. That seems to be the case with this city.

You can check the results from this Yellow Page results page but be forewarned, we did find new RV sales operations included in the list. This is about the only list for any type of salvage yard in this city.

The websites that have listed salvage yards state by state do not list any for this area of the State. In other words, your best bet is to talk to the auto salvage yards and see what they say.

If you are selling, do not expect to receive a lot of money. The demand for used RV parts does not seem to be very high in Kentucky. Especially with Visionerv in the same State.

There were a couple of salvage yards listed for this city but one advertised that it was for 1973-87 Chevy/GMC Truck Parts only. It will be tough to find someone that has used RV parts for sale including those wanting vintage parts.

RV Salvage Yard Lexington Kentucky

You might have better luck looking in this city for RV salvage yards. Not that there are any businesses specifically dedicated to RVs and recycling their older parts. This city was not on any lists either.

However, their Yellow Page results did seem to bring a little hope that some of the other salvage yards may have used RV parts as a sideline. They may not advertise that part of the business but you never know until you ask.

It is always best to call them first to make sure. You do not want to waste any time driving to their location only to be embarrassed that you wasted your time.

Like the other cities, try the local classified ads newspapers. Those media outlets often have companies that won’t advertise anywhere else. After all, they are looking more for local not national business.

It is worth a shot when you are in deep need for a one of a kind part that can’t be found anywhere else.

Buying used RV Parts in Kentucky

Unfortunately, you may have to look for new RV parts outlets instead of used ones. There are not too many stores listed in the State that sell used parts over and above those we already mentioned earlier.

You can try phoning around to see what is available or looking in the local Yellow Pages but your search may not be that fruitful. The biggest selection and probably the biggest outlet you will find in Kentucky will be Visionerv.

You should read their website as they usually list all RVs they have in stock where you can get parts from. Some look well cannibalized already. You never know what make, model, or brand of RV they will have in stock.

If they are the world’s largest then it is possible you will be able to find what you need through that business.

RV Junkyards in Kentucky

We mentioned a needle in a haystack earlier and that is what this search is like. You are looking for a business that may not be high in numbers, well advertised, or still in business.

The best one to go to would be the one we have talked about the most in this article, Visionerv. In looking at their parts web page, they seem to have RVs waiting to be picked apart going back to 1985 Holiday Ramblers.

Most of what they have dates to the early 2000s but they also have a large selection from the 1990s. When you are in Kentucky this is the go-to place when it comes to RV salvage or junkyards.

Shop For RV Parts Online

The internet is a very convenient tool to use when you need to find used parts. There are different outlets that focus on this business aspect because it saves them money and makes it more convenient for their customers.

They do not have to leave home to get the parts they want. Here are a few companies where you can shop online, and Visionerv is one of those companies but we won’t list them here.

1. Arizona RV Salvage- specializes in hard to find parts and they are located in Pasadena, Glendale Arizona

2. Young Farts RV Parts- is a Canadian company that will ship anywhere in the US and Canada. To get free shipping, you have to spend more than $200

3. RV Parts San Diego- they have parts for RVs as well as pop-up campers. You should be able to find what you need here no matter what item you are looking for

4. Vintage Trailer Supply- they do have original but very rare vintage parts. However, most of the parts for vintage trailers, etc., are reproductions. Vintagecampers.com is a similar business.

5. Colaw RV Salvage- has been in business since 1977 and they also ship anywhere.

Some Additional Words

While you may not be able to find a good RV salvage yard in Kentucky, you can take hope in some of these online salvage businesses. They work hard to get as many parts as possible so their customers get what they need quickly.
