Finding an RV junkyard or salvage yard is not always easy. One of the reasons it gets difficult is that there is not a lot of money in salvaging older RVs. Many owners simply trade them in and those trade-ins may never see a salvage yard.
There was Walt’s RV Surplus in Rialto CA but it is closed now. The reason you may not find that many in this state is because of the strict environmental laws plaguing the citizens of California. It gets very expensive to run a niche market junkyard.

The problem is that some of these junkyards are closing faster than new ones can open. We counted 7 closures in the state with 5 of them being in Southern CA. A couple of them were in San Diego and Los Angeles.

We were able to find a few of these businesses in this city. The Yelp and Yellow Pages will list auto wreckers or salvage yards before they list any for RVs. You can check those websites to see if we missed any.
The trouble will be in if they have closed recently or not. You should double-check before going to one of these locations to make sure they are still open and have what you need.

Finding Used RV Parts in California
Depending on where you are at in this state, the above lists will be able to help you out in some way. They may have used parts and at least two of them deal in Vintage RV parts for Airstream and Holiday Rambler.
RV City Surplus, in San Diego, says that they buy RVvs and they have thousands of RV parts for sale. That may be a mixture of new and used. This company is #8 in the first section.
You can use their contact details to talk to them and see if they have what you are looking for. Then there is Salvage RV Parts US, they seem to be nationwide but they list numerous California cities in their long list of locations near the bottom of their landing page.
When searching for used RV parts, you may get a lot of websites that deal nationwide but are not specifically located in California. That is what we found in our searches for this topic.
Find My RV Parts is a Division of Veurink’s RV Center that will ship anywhere in the US and to Canada but they are located in Grand Rapids Michigan. You will find many used parts stores that will try to service as many RV owners as possible to broaden their customer base.
RV Junkyards in California
The lists above provide you with quite a few junkyards in this state. Whether they are open or not is another question. The best thing to do is open the Yellow Pages for the city you live in or are camping nearby and see what pops up.
Because RV is a smaller niche market, these junkyards may focus on autos and trucks more than RVs. But you never know what you will find till you try. Check different classified newspapers as well.
Those media outlets offer advertising rates that are usually cheaper than traditional newspapers. You may find a lot more in those media outlets than in the phone book.

It is understandable that RV junkyards are becoming a rare breed. Not only do environmental rules wreak havoc on these businesses, there are just not enough RV owners to make this business venture very profitable, except for a few businesses.
The best thing to do is check to see if any on the above lists are still open, then start your own search to find some near you. We provided a wide range of salvage yards just in case the ones for those specific cities are not operating anymore.
