2016 Ford 6.7 DEF Reductant Heater Increased Warranty Coverage
We have not found any information if the extended warranty that ended last July has been extended a 3rd time. It seems that it was a confusing extension as the letter most owners received gave two different expiration dates.
On one hand, one letter said it was extended for 11 years or 120,000 miles and the warranty ended in 2018. But most vehicles with that 11-year extension would go beyond 2018.
The second extension said 8 years and 100,000 miles approx. But it ended on July 31, 2022. Many vehicles that were covered would go well beyond 2022 under the terms of the letter.
The good news is that if your vehicle was covered, you saved a lot of money.
2015 F250 DEF Heater Recall
To the best of our knowledge, there has been no recall sent out for this part. We checked several recall websites and it was not listed on any of them. However, if you think there was a recall for this part, you can check Ford’s website.

Ford Code P20BA Recall
Again, there is no information on this topic. There are many complaints about this error code. Many owners are not happy that they have paid so much money for one small part to keep failing.
If you think there was a recall, use the link to Ford in the previous section and put in your VIN, and see what comes up. P20BA is an error code and it is triggered if the following parts fail:
- Faulty Reductant Heater
- Reductant Heater harness is open or shorted
- Reductant Heater circuit poor electrical connection
So there won’t be a recall over an error code.
