How do I Turn on My Jensen RV Radio?

Why is My Jensen Radio Not Working?
There are three sources for this issue. The first one is a power problem. It may not be hooked up right and you put the wrong color wire to the wrong terminal cutting off the power supply. Or there is just no power source sending it electricity.
The second source will be that the radio is not grounded. In the Jensen radio system, it is the black wire that is the ground wire. Make sure it is hooked up correctly so you can have the power restored.
The third reason is that the fuse blew. however, finding the right fuse to replace can be somewhat of a chore to do. Several different fuses may blow in an RV that will affect the power supply to the radio. Your task is to hunt down the one that is the culprit and replace it with the right fuse.
Some owners have had a fair amount of difficulty in tracking down the right fuse. If the fuse is not blown, then you may have a wiring problem somewhere in the system. This will require some expertise with electrical systems to solve.
Common Jensen DVD CD Player Problems
One of the more common issues you will need to be aware of is that the radio is designed to handle only one input signal at a time. If you have hooked up more than one connection and they are all trying to send signals to your stereo, then the stereo won’t play most of those signals.
To solve this problem, you need to reset the device and on some models of Jensen, the reset button is beneath the volume dial. You would need a pin or similar object to push the button and reset it.
Another common issue will be the laser pick-up system. If your DVD or CD stops playing then starts up after a short pause, that will be the part that is causing the problem. A good cleaning may solve this issue or you may have to have a technician take a look at it.

Jensen JWM40 Pairing
According to the manual for this radio system, the pairing of the device and Bluetooth is not that hard to do. There are about 4 steps to the process and you just have to be patient to get through it.
- Step 1: Press the BT (10) button to access the Bluetooth mode.
- Step 2: Press and hold the BT button to start the process. The stereo will display the word Pair for 2 minutes.
- Step 3: Go to the device you want to pair with the radio and select JWM40 in the Bluetooth menu.
- Step 4: If the device asks for a password, enter 0000 and you should be connected to the stereo through your Bluetooth system.
If you want further Bluetooth details, just go to page 16 of your Jensen owner’s manual to get further instructions on how the system works with Bluetooth. Press the >> or the << buttons when you want to change tracks. Those buttons should be # 5 & 2 according to the manual.

You may be asked for a pin number but the owner’s manual does not provide one. Their instructions, as you saw in the previous section, are for you to insert 0000. This should get you connected if the system is working properly.
However, not every Jensen owner has been successful when they use 0000 or 1234 or 1111. Someone suggested that you do not enter anything in the password box and just hit the accept or connect button. They said that this will work.
If it doesn’t, you may have to disconnect the Bluetooth feature from all the devices you paired with it and try again. The error may come because there are too many devices connected to the Bluetooth feature.
You may also have to reset your devices completely before you will be able to insert the 0000 code and pair up with the Bluetooth system installed by Jensen. Jensen RV Stereo Bluetooth Not Working
When this situation takes place, the problem may be with the Jensen radio or stereo and not the Bluetooth system. One solution would be to reset the stereo by cutting all power to the system. Once you do that wait between 30 seconds and 1 minute before restarting the power supply.
One owner did this and they disconnected their shore power, turned their battery disconnect on, and waited 10 minutes. Then they restored power and went through the manual’s instructions and they were able to pair up their device with the Jensen Bluetooth feature.
Most often, the problem is going to be with the device and not the Bluetooth system. Different devices will connect and when you leave them for a few minutes, you cannot connect again.
The only solution is to cut the power and try to get the device to forget the previous connection, Then you go through the instructions again to get reconnected.
Jensen Radio Not Working
The Jensen manual has a page on troubleshooting simple problems like this one. They list 4 solutions to this problem when the radio does not turn on. The first is for you to try the reset button. If that does not solve the problem then you go to check the fuse.
After that fails to resolve the situation, you move on to check the 12 volts on the accessory wire to the radio which is the red one. If there is a loose connection that will need or be tightened. Or clear away any corrosion, etc.
The final solution is to check the ground and make sure it is connected correctly. However, if your radio turns on but there is no sound, you need to check your speaker selection to make sure you picked the right one. Make sure your volume, mute, and balance knobs are set correctly.
If those do not solve the issue, go to your reset button to see if that action will solve it. If not make sure your speakers are connected properly or check for shorts in the system
Jensen RV DVD Player Won't Load
This is a common problem on some of Jensen’s stereo systems. The first step is to check to see if the DVD/CD chamber is empty. Also, check to see if your player has power running to it.
If these issues are okay, then you need to check one little screw. It is called the transport screw and if it is not removed, your DVD will not load properly. The device will only load for a few seconds, then eject the DVD or CD. That screw needs to be removed.
Other issues will be if the DVD is not playing correctly. If you loaded the DVD and it is playing but you see nothing. You need to check the HDMI connection and make sure that it is going from the HDMI output port on the stereo to the HDMI input on your television.
Then if the remote doesn’t work, check the batteries, make sure you have power. Then make sure you have a direct line of sight. Simple problems only require simple fixes.
How Do I Reset my Jensen Radio?
The reset button should be on the face of the stereo. It is tiny so there is nothing wrong if you happen to miss it from time to time. The location of the button is supposed to be under the volume dial.
You will need a slender pin or similar object to push the button in to activate it and reset your Jensen stereo. If that fails, you can disconnect the power to the radio for about 30 seconds and let the radio ‘forget’ different settings. Once you return the power to the radio it should act normally again.
The disconnect can be anywhere between 30 seconds and a couple of minutes, although one owner waited ten minutes and the device worked fine. Cutting the power seems to be the best way to reset this radios system.
How do I Get My Jensen Radio off Demo Mode?
This is not a hard task to perform. All you have to do is go to the settings menu then find general settings and under that menu look for the words demo mode. When you reach that you should see an on-off action that will turn the demo mode off when you slide or click it into place.
If this does not work, then check to see if the touchscreen has a demo option listed in the menu and click on that. From there just follow the instructions to turn the demo mode off. We did check the owner’s manual for this radio but there was not a word on how to perform this function.
