Technology has a way of upgrading just about everything. However, during its upgrading process, technology often makes the simple task far more difficult than they should be. That seems to be the case when it comes to using Bluetooth
Technology creates operating systems that have little room for error. Connecting your Furrion DV3100 stereo with Bluetooth means going through a strict process where the slightest mistake means you do not make a connection. Going through the manual and following the instructions carefully is one option you can try.
To learn more about this topic, just continue to read our article. It has the information you want to know about so you can use your Furrion stereo and Bluetooth connectivity to its fullest potential.
It is said you need a lot of patience and even more luck to make this pairing work. It seems that every Furrion stereo owner wanting to use Bluetooth has their own way of making the connection.
Also, it seems that you need to do a lot of trial and error methods to find the right sequence to get the pairing done right. One owner had to turn his stereo off to get the Bluetooth command to light up. He also had to hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
Don’t forget to use 0000 as your password. That seemed to help one owner who had to keep his phone close to his stereo to make the connection work.
One way to do this task is to reset your stereo back to its default settings. You do this by pressing the reset button. Then, put your phone near your stereo as you go through the process.
Now, double-check to make sure you are in Bluetooth mode on your stereo and pair mode on your phone. Tap the DV3100-XXXX under devices. When prompted use the 0000 as your password.
When the ‘link ok’ appears on the radio display you have got it right. This process may take a little time so make sure you still have a lot of patience left inside of you. Other owners have used different methods to get the connection but can’t remember their sequence exactly. Those instructions came from the manual.
Since many RV owners have the Furrion DV3100 stereo in their RVs, the company has made the pin or password very simple. All you have to do is type in 0000 and you should be given access.
There should be a process that allows you to change and customize your pin but those instructions should be found in the manual. Since this is not a pin for vital documents or bank accounts, you may not want to change it.
That task is up to you to decide to do or not. It can also be done at any time so there is no rush to make the change.
When it comes to doing Bluetooth or other electronic activities, technology has made it mandatory that you insert a password. The password is usually a PIN and is usually comprised of all digits.
Since you are asking to connect to Bluetooth don’t be surprised when your DV3100 stereo asks for a PIN or a password. As you know by now, the password is 0000 for the Furrion model.
That is an easy number to remember and if you want your own unique password, check your manual to see if there is a process that allows you to change it. If not, then you are stuck with that password number until you change your stereo brand.
There is a small reset button on the face of the stereo. According to the manual, this button is at the bottom of the stereo underneath the Bluetooth mode button and the input mode button.
It is located right next to the microphone in jack so it should be fairly easy to find. To reset the stereo back to factory default settings, you may have to push this button for 10 seconds.
That is what some owners had to do and this system may work differently for different owners. With that said, you should use a pin or a paper clip to push the button in and hold it. Then after 10 seconds release the button.
The basic instructions are found on page 26 of the manual. The key is to connect to a television set that has NTSC, PAL, or Auto capabilities. Sometimes the screen will go blank or blink. Those two responses mean something went wrong.
You will have to access the t.v. system and select one of those three options to make the connection. To get the right screen size, you need to select 4:3PS to cut the left and right portions off the screen and 4:3LB to cut the top and bottom portions off the screen.
For 16:9 abilities, you will need to select 16:9 on the stereo. For more details that can’t be put here, just turn to that page in your manual.
This feature is fairly easy to do and there do not seem to be any complicated steps to take. The first step would be to push the clock button on either the LCD screen or the remote control.
Keep pressing until you see the clock feature on the LCD screen. Then you use the volume knob or the +/- buttons on the remote to set the time. To change the clock from minutes to hours, either press the volume button or press SEL on the remote, then use the same buttons to get to the right time.
It may take the stereo a few seconds to adjust. The instructions for the clock setting are on page 15 of the manual.
The troubleshooting options that you can do are found on page 34 of the manual. There are a few simple situations you that have about 4 steps each to go through to see if those rectify the problem.
For example, if you have no picture, sound, or indication, then check your power supplies. Make sure everything is plugged in just right. If you receive a B & W screen you need to make sure you have the right t.v. system setting.
If the stereo function locks up or the Bluetooth is not working, press the reset button. More details are listed on that page of the manual. If they fail, call your Furrion tech or dealer.
According to the manual, you only have two choices to handle this problem. The first choice is to look at the antenna cable. If it is not plugged in firmly, then the radio probably will not work.
The other choice you have is to tune the radio manually until you get a radio station. You can try to turn the stereo off and then back on again but the reset button may do that for you. At least it did for one owner.
Unfortunately, the manual is not much help in this situation. If your radio seems to be hooked up fine, but still won’t work, call a technician to help you. Or call Furrion direct and see what they say.
According to the manual, you have about 7 or 8 options to try before you call a technician. The first option is to check to see if you put the disk on the tray. The second option would be to see if you put the disk in upside down.
Then you need to check to see if the disk is damaged, scratched, or distorted in any way. If the disk checks out, check to see if the disk format is compatible with the stereo system Also, high temperatures may affect the stereo so lower the ambient room temperature to see if that helps.
All these instructions are found on page 34 of the manual and while it is somewhat helpful, you may not solve the problem. If these tips do not work call a technician to see if they can find the problem.
The owner's manual did not cover this situation on its troubleshooting page but it does offer suggestions under different subsections. For example, you should check to make sure the stereo is connected to the t.v.’s video input and not the component input.
Then make sure you have turned your t.v. to the AV input channel to your player. After that, check to see if the cable is damaged or not, and if it is hooked up correctly. if all of this is fine, check to see if you have set the right video settings on the player.
If these solutions do not work, you may have to call a technician to get some expert help in solving the problem.
There are only 2 solutions you can try for this situation. The first is to check to see if you set the right t.v. setting. There are only three to choose from- NTSC, PAL, or Auto. If the setting is correct, there is one more thing you can do.
You can check to see that your cable is connected to the t.v. AV input jack and not the component input jack. If they are not connected right, then switch the cable so that it is.
Like any other problem with your Furrion stereo, if those two options do not solve the problem, then call a technician to help you. There will be troubleshooting options that you cannot do yourself and only a technician can handle it.
The first thing you need to be aware of is that many companies use DV3100 for their products. You will have to use the brand name, Furrion, to find out if there are any updates.
The second thing to do is contact Furrion directly to see if there are updates and where you can find them. Our research did not turn up any outlets offering any Furrion firmware updates.
So contact the company at the link we have provided in the next section. Or talk to a dealer to see what they can do for you. Those are the only options we have found so far.
You will find that there are many different places you can go to get a download version of this manual. One of the best places to go is our go-to manual site. This website has manuals for almost every electronic device ever made, or so it seems.
Another place you can look is Forest River’s website. They claim to have over 700,000 manuals ready for download, this link takes you to the manual for the 3100 stereo.
This final link will take you to Furrion’s download web page for audio devices. However, we did not see a manual for the 3100 listed. There is contact information at the bottom of the page you can use to make your manual inquiry.
Technology is supposed to make things simpler. However, it doe snot always turn out that way. It seems that the more technology you get the more steps you have to take to solve a problem. That includes pairing Bluetooth with your Furrion DV3100 stereo.
However, most tasks can be corrected by going to the owner’s manual and looking up their troubleshooting page. There you will find enough instructions to help you solve simple problems that may occur. Beyond those instructions, you may need a technician to help you.
